Sung Wook Ji is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Telecommunication, Information Studies and Media at Michigan State University, and holds a recent Ph.D. from the Dept. of Telecommunications at Indiana University, Bloomington.

His primary research interests center on the interdisciplinary area between Mass Communication, Economics, and Media Policy. In particular, he is interested in the social and economic impact of new media technologies on the media industry, and how these technologies have changed our media industry and our society from the perspective of economics.

His research has received recognition in different venues. In addition to several conferences in the field of Mass Communication (e.g., ICA, AEJMC, and MAPOR), he has also contributed papers in the fields of Economics (Review of Industrial Organization journal) and Telecommunications Policy (The Information Society journal and Telecommunication Policy Research Conference).
