Nick Kwiatkowski is an adjunct instructor within the Telecommunications, Information Studies and Media department in addition to his role as a telecommunications engineer within Telecommunication Systems Department in the Physical Plant of Michigan State University. Nick graduated from the TISM program in 2004 and has played an active role at MSU since. Nick has a strong background in data communications and infrastructure design; he has designed and implemented voice, video and data networks at companies like Scott Trade, Lincoln Financial, and MSU. He has done research and partnered with companies like Adobe, Avaya, and Intel. At his position within the Telecommunication Systems Department, he runs and maintains the campus’s cable television and voice systems. Nick holds industry certifications from TIA, Avaya, Cisco, Novell and many others.
Nick runs the Michigan ActionScript User Group and is a highly regarded speaker on various data networking, programming and telecommunication topics. He is PMC board member of the Apache Flex open-source project and a project contributor.
Nick also runs Lansing’s DemoCamp, Ignite, Hackers and Hustlers, and helps with Lansing’s TEDx events. He ran the audio/video production of O'Reilly’s regional Ignite productions, including Ignite Great Lakes.
