Julia Crouse is a second-year doctoral student, studying prosocial media effects of entertainment and serious video games. She holds a B.A. in English and a B.S. in journalism from the University of Florida and a M.A. in mass communication from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. She worked as a reporter at The Ledger in central Florida for four years and at the Durham Herald-Sun's Chapel Hill bureau for two years. She is currently working with Dr. Wei Peng on an exergame project to incorporate physical activity into video games. She is also interested in online communication, journalism, and media effects. She also enjoys playing video games, too.
