Jessica is a 3rd-year PhD student. Originally from Baltimore, MD, she received her BA at Elon University and her MA at Georgetown University. She currently works on a NSF-funded grant with Drs. Ellison and Lampe looking at the role that social network sites play in facilitating collaboration. Her own research considers how online communication technologies enhance, detract from, and supplement existing offline relationships, as well as how factors such as tie strength and message content impact communication behaviors.
