Recipient: Jih Hsuan "Tammy" Lin

She participated in two funded projects in the past year and contributed greatly to the success of the projects.
She co-authored four papers with me and they were accepted for the Consumer Culture Conference, ICA10, and NCA10. Her own research paper is recently accepted at NCA10 and awarded as Top Student paper.

She has shown a tremendous amount of initiative in three semesters here and is active on multiple research teams and has several publications in progress. Her strong analytic and writing skills in combination with
enthusiasm for research have contributed to her success at conferences and publishing.

Recipient: Chris Hamrick

Chris has been very diligent as a member of the MA committee for the past year, and has often volunteered for tasks for the department on behalf of his fellow graduate students.  In addition, he has worked hard to connect to other MA students, and has been a leader in the classroom.

Recipient: Andy Smock

He has taught 110, a large-enrollment, required class as the instructor for 2 semesters now, going above and beyond the call of duty. This last semester he did so with only one TA. His SIRS are very positive and he takes his role as instructor very seriously. He is a model instructor and has been very willing to take on additional duties at the department's request.

Recipient: Caleb Carr

He has been TA for TC100 or instructor for TC100 in the past three and half years. He has been an excellent TA. His teaching evaluation is superb. TC100 students love to have him.

Recipient: Ben Rickert

Ben is an audio whiz, with a well developed sense of narrative and the ability to turn a concept into a compelling story.

Recipient: Pete Johnston

Pete is an excellent student and teacher. He is creative, responsible, and reliable in his classroom related activity. He is at the level where I have entrusted him with the technical editing of Arabs, Jews, and the News, which has been screened at festivals and on television around the country in some measure as a result of his work.
