This study examined news coverage and commentary about city government by daily newspapers, weekly newspapers, television, cable, radio and citizen journalism sites in 98 metropolitan central cities and 77 suburban cities.  The results show that city government news continues to be a mainstay of local news coverage in most cities with news coverage, and that the bulk of that coverage continues to come from daily and weekly newspapers.
